Blog Explanation

We chose the title “Relentless Love” because all of Roderigo’s actions are directed towards his pursuit of Desdemona and his hope of gaining her love. The picture of Venice shows where he has come from and a time in his life that was less complicated. We decided to use a green background to represent the jealousy Roderigo feels towards Othello and Cassio. We also put the post words into green because of how his jealousy is expressed through his entries. Each entry describes his actions and feelings towards characters, such as his jealousy towards Othello. We chose to do the post titles in red because it represents the passion that is expressed by Roderigo. The main background is blue to show Roderigo’s disappointments. Roderigo always seems to be a victim and he never attains his goals. The blue also represents his decline into depression when his pursuit of Desdemona continually fails. We made the font basic and bold to show how uncomplicated and simple Roderigo’s character is. He is easily deceived and it is not difficult to gain his trust. We decided against using music because we believe that Roderigo was only focused on his goal. He would not waste his time with music because he is too depressed to listen to anything except for Iago’s advice. We included many pictures of Desdemona to illustrate the lust Roderigo has for her. We think that Roderigo would appreciate looking at Desdemona often. We also included individual pictures within the posts to represent different aspects of each entry. We feel that these factors represent Roderigo in a way that accurately describes his character.
